We are about to read a story called “Dear Mr. Henshaw” by Beverly Cleary. In the story, the main character, Leigh Botts, writes to Mr. Henshaw, his favorite author, and asks him 10 questions about his life for a book report.
If you had to write to your favorite author, what ten questions would ask him/her?

STRAIGHT FROM THE HEADLINES! Many Americans are very upset at a company called AIG because back in October ‘07 they received billions of dollars in bailout money. Now it’s reported that they paid several of their executives over $167 million in bonuses. Usually people receive a bonus if they make money instead of losing it. Even President Obama is mad!
Do you feel it’s fair when people receive rewards for not doing what they are supposed to be doing? Why or why not?
